The School of Marxism Holds the First Meeting of the 2023 Scholarly Paper Quality Improvement Workshop

In order to strengthen academic exchanges between young and middle-aged faculty members and effectively improve the faculty’s scientific research level, at 3:50 pm on May 11, the first meeting of the scholarly paper quality improvement workshop organized by our School was held at Room X31325. Professor Qiu Haiping, Dean of the School of Marxism, Professor Hu Zixiang, Deputy Dean, Associate Professor Yang Huan, Administrative Assistant, and more than ten young and middle-aged faculty members attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Dean Qiu Haiping introduced the establishment purpose of the workshop and explained from multiple aspects including discipline construction, academic exchanges, and scholarly paper publication, and encouraged young faculty members to regularly communicate and exchange ideas about the creation of scholarly papers. These measures are able to form a positive academic environment and a normalized academic exchange mechanism.

Deputy Dean Hu Zixiang explained the working mechanism of the workshop from the three aspects of establishment motivation, the principle of participation, and expected results. Based on his long-term experience of administrating scientific research work, Dean Hu once again emphasized the importance of the publication of high-quality papers to faculty members’ personal growth and the elevation of the overall scientific research level of the School. He encouraged faculty members to actively participate in meetings through voluntary registration and other means, so as to form a two-way operation mechanism of the workshop with faculty members independently initiating meetings according to the topics selected and the School regularly organizing exchanges and refinement. Dean Hu expected to booster exchanges and brainstorming, so that the School’s overall scientific research level can be improved.

Faculty members such as Qin Shiyan, Yuan Yuchen, Wang Yingying, Li Xincheng, and Liu Ying reported on their scholarly paper topic selection and writing ideas in turn. Dean Qiu Haiping and Deputy Dean Hu Zixiang put forward detailed views and suggestions. During the free discussion session, the participating faculty members had a heated discussion and exchange on scholarly paper topic selection and academic value.
